Graham Ellis

The Membership Development Team Leader is an executive member of the Club Management Committee and is responsible for developing and implementing a programme to encourage people to join the club and then oversee their progress as a club member. They are responsible for the coaching team.

Graham started playing bowls at about 20 in the Wigan Works league way back in 1975 (crown). After a few seasons of playing and being beaten by semi-professional old timers he moved away from the sport and never gave it a thought until several years ago whilst visiting family in Australia. Watching his son in law play at his local club, he was loaned a set of bowls and a few practice sessions later found himself being asked to play in their weekly Pennant teams. Coming back home they recommended that he find a bowls club in the UK, (cue BFGBC), to keep my eye in until I returned. My greatest honour is representing Lancashire along with winning a number of team events with Bolton.
